Civil War, weeks 1 & 2

The week before last we read ...If You Lived When There Was Slavery in America. They devoured the book! "Mommy, read more!" I loved it.

Last week we started our Civil War Lapbook. I'll post pictures once we're done.

Monday:
Overviewed Slavery and discussed some more things in detail.

Tuesday:
Read- Escape North! A Step-Into reader about Harriet Tubman.
Mini books- 1. Underground Railroad & 2. Nation Divided map

Wednesday:
Mini books- 1. Important People & 2. Timeline Fan

Thursday:
Read- "Bands and Music", a chapter from Great Civil War Projects
Mini books- 1. Buglers, 2. Drums, & 3. Taps

On Thursday we also started reading, The Red Badge of Courage.
