Hiking at Horse Creek

The paper listed several trails in the Cherokee National Forest. This particular one was listed as the easiest.
"This short trail is only .56 miles, 1-2 hours long...
follows the creek up to a 45-foot waterfall."
eheu!! (How do you say, "Yeah, right!" in Latin?) It was beautiful and it was a fairly easy, but we walked every bit of 1 mile in and 1 mile back out. STILL never found the waterfall.

It's blurry, but it's the best I could get.
"Bear Reserve" & "No Camping Here"

We had to cross the creek 4 or 5 times each way. I think that was the kids favorite part.

  1. Gotta love hiking near water with kids! Looks like a fabulous outing. We're finally finding a negative to our hiking habit... the rising cost of gas. Ouch!

  2. Luckily we live very very close to the Cherokee National Forest. Lots of hiking opportunities and we use very little gas!

  3. The hike looks WONDERFUL! My family loves to do that sort of thing. We'll have to look at that location.
I have an award for you at my blog if you would like to have it. :)
